Marco Brioschi Trio

Marco Brioschi trained artistically at the Liceo Musicale of Monza with the study of the classical piano, then he dedicated himself to the study of the trumpet with various teachers and then with Maestro Emilio Soana, first trumpet of the RAI Orchestra of Milan. He made his debut at a very young age, during the early eighties, in the Jazz clubs of the Milan area, also playing in traditional Jazz ensembles; thus begins a period that sees him collaborate with some of the most valid Italian musicians.

In 1988 his "Blue Jazz Quartet" was born, which includes Alberto Marchesini on guitar, Franco Finocchiaro on double bass and Gianni Cazzola on drums. The group, which offers a selection from Chet Baker's repertoire, supports various concerts and stands out particularly in the context of participation in the "Jazz per una Notte" review held at the Shocking Club in Milan in 1990. Marco, who until now only plays the trumpet, begins to play the flugelhorn alongside her.

From 1991 he joined, as an external guest, the "Ensemble Mobile", the Orchestra of the Musicians Association of Bergamo (in which Gianluigi Trovesi also appears). In September of the same year he participates with the "Marco Brioschi Quartet" quartet, together with his brother Paolo on piano, Riccardo Fioravanti on double bass and Giampiero Prina on drums, at the "Jazz in Italy" Festival of the Club Capolinea in Milan. This participation becomes particularly significant since, on the twentieth anniversary of Louis Armstrong's death, the festival is dedicated to the trumpet precisely in memory of the great deceased musician. In the monthly magazine "Musica Jazz" of December 1991 Claudio Sessa reviews the evening as follows: "Marco Brioschi ... with intense and painful trumpeting, owes a lot to Chet Baker but is already moving on his own paths".

o remain in the critical arena, in the monthly "Ritmo" of February 1992 Zino Cadini wrote of him: "...the memory of Chet Baker is very vivid...Brioschi carried out his task with fluency, as befits a musician of class". In the following years Marco Brioschi collaborates intensely with various Italian and international musicians and his artistic journey continues along two parallel paths which see him on the one hand esteemed and requested as always in the jazz field, on the other loved and courted in the pop music world by great personalities who appreciate its suggestive timbre, melodic taste and great versatility.
